Do you need Lord of Destruction expansion to play this mod? Yes; you will be unable to create a classic character.
Does this mod work in single player? No. Yes you can load the mod in singleplayer and it will run but many features will be missing or not working properly. We strongly recommend you play on our online servers.

Do most people play Hardcore or Softcore? Its about evenly split. Early on Hardcore had the most but at the time of writing this softcore has grown a lot.
I am getting some kind of error with my Diablo II, how can I fix it? We have compiled a list of all known errors and their solution. Get help here. You can also get help on our forums or discord.
Have you changed drop rates or XP rates? Not entirely; although some changes to drop rates have happened for runes (exponential rarity of tiers changed to linear); Player XP is unchanged, and is influenced by number of other players in-game. All drops are set to players 8 at all times.
Is the armor Eth bug fixed? Yes.
Are programs like Multibox, HD Res, Botting or Maphack allowed? No; any third party program is not allowed. For a full list of a rules, see our Rules page.
Can I have multiple accounts? Yes; but you may not play them simultaneously.
Have you created new uniques, set or runewords? Not exactly. Instead of making new uniques or runewords, we have instead tried to fix some of the ones that are underused. This is a balance mod for d2 so our goal is to make more builds and items viable for use. So rather than make brand new items, we try to fix the ones that you would usually vendor. See examples on the wiki.
What is dungeoneering/relics? In order to help make more areas worth exploring, we have added an end-game system that allows players to collect relics which are used to open portals to more dangerous end-game dungeons.

Но Крис Уилсон, ведущий дизайнер Path of Exile, вовсе не обеспокоен анонсом новой части Diablo. Он считает, что конкуренция положительно скажется на обеих играх, а жанр сможет выдержать сосуществование двух хитов.
Уилсон рассудил, что у Diablo 4 одна большая проблема. Blizzard придется создать новый мир вслепую, без ориентации на требования игроков. И никто не будет знать, в чем разработчики оказались хороши или плохи, пока игроков не пустят в релизную версию. Окей, мрачность в демке накрутили, а что дальше?

Они считают, что Blizzard полностью изменилась, растеряла всю старую гвардию, ответственную за дорогие нашему сердцу хиты. Кстати, тот же Бревик помогает с релизом Path of Exile в Китае, а братья Шефер активно работают с китайскими инвесторами и серией Torchlight. Поэтому про ситуацию с протестами и Blizzard не сказали ничего интересного.
Но месседж читается мрачным: в Blizzard нет свободы творчества, а руководство думает кошельком – с таким описанием не верится, что Diablo 4 станет действительно важной и интересной игрой.

Automatic Game filtering :
1. Beating Normal Difficulty allows you to see Nightmare and Normal Games.

All classes now start with +100 stamina. (Less walking at lower levels)
Base mana regeneration of all classes increased from 0.83% to 1.66%.

Upgrading Runes will no longer require gems.
Antidote and Thawing potions no longer grant bonuses to maximum resistances.
Cham rune now gives 4% Skill Cooldown Reduction.
Arrows and Bolts can drop magic or rare with a wide variety of mods.
New crafting item "Orb of Corruption". (see Orb of Corruption section below)
Drop rate for higher runes goes down less exponentially and more linearly. This means higher runes are still increasingly rare but less rare than they were.
Orb of Corruptions start dropping at monster level 40 or higher.
Orb of Corruptions do not work on white, ethereal or items that has sockets already. However, you can "socket quest" and upgrade a corrupted item.
Place in cube with an item to corrupt it. Transmute twice to confirm.
Possible corruptions : 25% - get additional socket(s), 25% - get an additionnal mod, 25% - no change, 25% - transforms into a new rare item.
Enigma - Replaced +1 Teleport with +1 Warp (a 2 second cooldown teleport).
Memory - The "extra damage as physical" mod will now vary from 25% to 35% and the mod "Magic damage reduced by 7" was replaced by "Lightning Surge deals 25% extra damage as Physical".
Heart of the Oak - Max life% has been lowered from 10-12 to 6-8.
Infinity - Enhanced damage stat has been reduced.
Silence - Now has level 8 cleansing aura.
Spirit (sword version) - Vitality is removed, the mana and faster cast rate are based on character level.
Medusa’s Gaze - The new purpose it serves makes much more sense than the previous iteration and also now properly respects the theme of the item.

Hydras now shoot fire balls instead of fire bolts and has a maximum cap of 4 sets of hydras alive simultaneously.
It also got reworked to have higher damage and no cooldown but a short duration. It also costs more mana but have a synergy with warmth.
New skills : Frigerate, Freezing Pulse (Teeth-like AoE spell that fires waves of cold damage), Discharge (replaced Thunder Storm), Ignite, Immolate.
Can now have all types of minions alive at the same time.
Wearwolf and wearbear forms were buffed.
Buffed Raven significantly. Ravens now do AoE damage.
Buffed Firestorm range significantly.
Firestorm now uses the same spell that Hellfire Torch and Diablo used to use and easily covers to the edge of the screen and beyond.
New skill : Flame Dash (long cooldown teleport that does fire damage in a large AoE).
Masteries are no longer weapon specific. Instead there is Two Hand, One Hand and Throwing.
New skills : Ethereal Throw (AoE magic damage throw ability), Cleave.
Major rework to the Combat Skills tree. Skills shifted around significantly, making leveling smoother.

We are introducing a new dungeoneering system. Players will find Relics which are tiered. When a player finds a relic, he can bring it to an Altar and use it. This will create a portal to a high level dungeon. These dungeons are exclusive to the end-game. They are inaccessible until Hell and require level 80 to open. These dungeons offer an optional alternative end-game aimed for high level characters (90+) where they can farm difficult content for experience and loot. These areas become harder and harder as you climb the Tiers. Each map has a boss and currently you are required to kill the map boss in order to gain access to higher tiers. Dungeons get increasingly difficult as you enter higher tiers but they will provide excellent experience points. These dungeons are safest when done in a group. It is not recommended to enter solo unless your character has end-game gear. Please be advised that the map bosses can be pretty scary. Tread carefully. There is currently 4 tiers out of the planned 5.
Using a town portal while in a relic dungeon will warp you to town without creating a portal. It will be impossible to re-enter the dungeon.
Relic bosses always spawn with the same mods.
Relic bosses always drop a relic.
Relic bosses are 5 levels higher than the area level.
Relic bosses skills which makes their fight more interesting and dangerous.
Relic boss rooms have more shiny chests as you climb the tiers.
Now utilize the new Fire Arrow with a burning trail.
All 3 difficulties (Normal/Nightmare/Hell) use the same auras :
Offensive uses Blessed Aim.
Defensive uses Defiance.
Combat uses Prayer.
No longer cast spells. Instead they use Vengeance. (Elemental damage on melee attacks - their own version with reduced multipliers)
The Cold Iron Wolf (now called Offensive) uses Meditation.
The Lightning Iron Wolf (now called Defensive) uses Cleansing.
The Fire Iron Wolf (now called Combat) uses Thorns.
Now use Might aura.
Now always uses Bash (converts 70% of phys to mag). They no longer can use Stun.

Path of Diablo VS Project Diablo
What are the differences and which should I be playing?
New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castpath of diablo focuses more on mapping as an alternative to endless MFing in pits. most builds worth anything can progress in endgame maps once they farmed basic gear in pod. pd2 focuses more on the vanilla experience, making hell progression and existing endgame boss encounters much more difficult. maps are more of an afterthought/group project rather than an alternative endgame content.
if youre looking for an enhanced vanilla d2 experience with much needed qol, play pd2. if youre looking for something thats similar to path of exile, an easy story playthrough then slow progression into insanely difficult endgame maps, play pod.
What does this mean?
PoD: more established, easier, closer to the original in play style, better trade site, established economy
PD2: get to be part of something new, harder, different play style, young and volatile economy, different from the original in a lot of ways (nothing bad, just different), STACKABLE RUNES, GEMS, MATS (huge QOL plus)
They’re both fun, both worth playing. Just depends what you’re looking for. I’d ply a character through both and see what makes you happy.
I asked this same question on their subreddit and it was deleted. That alone was off-putting enough to turn me off from the whole thing tbh, so PD2 it is. Thanks for the informative answer though.
I thought PoD was way different in play style and PD2 similar.. PD2 just nerfed bunch of meta stuff so it changed up a bit.
PoD is easier to get exactly what you want because there are simply less option. There are a ton of corruptions here, and some are so much better than others. not sure how I feel about it. The luck and envy factor is exaggerated on PD2.
This coupled with an inferior trade site make the economy a bit wonky. Hard to find what you need and harder to find consensus value. The trade options are all noisy and cluttered.
PoD has a global chat channel, which I found to be quite enjoyable. You can share in peoples hype and also keep abreast of value changes easier. Finding a tight group and doing voice is cool, but for the times where no one was around, I had TONS of fun in global chat while playing PoD.
Overall, PoD is better. For now. But you have to have a FoH pally or a Bowazon to keep up at all.
