Forza Horizon 4 Drag Launch Control Guide – Get Perfect Launch, Tips
In this Forza Horizon 4 Drag Launch Control Guide, we will guide you on a small trick which will help you get the best drag launches with minimum wheel spins in Forza Horizon 4. Drag racing has been a very important race type in Forza racing games for quite some time now with Forza Horizon 3 giving an airport runway to let people drag and Forza Horizon 4 coming with special Drag Racing Strips across the map.
The most important mechanic when it comes to drag racing is the launch, which most of the players would know is pretty hard to nail when it comes to high powered RWD vehicles. We have curated this Forza Horizon 4 Drag Launch Control Guide for you in which we will share a little trick with all drag fans out there who would love to make their launches powerful and spin free.
Drag Launch Guide – Forza Horizon 4
Before we begin our guide, we would like you to tell that this little trick works on any car with a turbo since we will be using the turbo for the trick. You can pick any drivetrain type, it could be FWD, 4WD or it could be RWD. All you need is a turbo in your vehicle.
If you are an old Forza player than you might already know about this trick however if you do not know about this trick or you are a new player, this will certainly help you make your drag launches better. Either way, this is a very cool trick to try to make your drag launches better.
We know that all high-powered cars suffer from initial wheel spins which can lose valuable time at the start of the game whether they are RWD, FWD or AWD. We recommend that you turn off traction control for this launch. It does not matter whether it affects it or not but we prefer having it off. Other than that, you must go to the difficulty settings and change the transmission to manual with clutch.
This trick will not work with any other transmission setting. Other than that, just make sure that your vehicle has a turbo. We also recommend that turn on Telemetry so you can easily view the vehicle stats which are otherwise hidden on the screen.
Once you are all set to try it out, head out to an open road. Stop your car. Press and hold the brake and then rev your engine. This will take the rev and turbo to maximum but the rev will then stay around 2K and the boost will be held at around medium level. Make sure that do not have the clutch engaged at this point.
The game will automatically engage the clutch for you at this point. At this point, release and you will instantly launch with a much more powerful boost than a full revved up or like you do in normal conditions. You might notice slight wheel spin at the start, but if you want to eliminate that too or your car has short gear ratios, you can launch directly from the second gear to reach more speed at launch and eliminate the wheel spin completely.
To launch with even more boost, you can try another little trick. While stationary, hold down the brake all the way down, rev up your engine and then feather the clutch in between the revving. If you are using telemetry, it will help you a lot. After pressing the clutch for a few times, you will notice that even after stopping the revving, your boost will be at maximum. You might need to do it a couple of times if you do not get it right away. One the boost holds, release and you will launch at full boost with minimum wheel spin and maximum power. The RPM will also stay much higher than the previous launch setting while you are stationary.
This will give you a very powerful launch and if you launched in the second gear, you will get to more speed before you need to change gears making you take an easy lead on the opposition. You can try both low-boost and high-boost options and decide which one works best for you.
Depending on your vehicle’s power, if you are still getting too much wheel spin in the second gear, you can try launching in the third gar as well but in most cars, you will only get bogged down at start. The first gear will give you a little bit wheel spin so the second gear is indeed the best option for this trick which gives minimum wheel spin and a decent speed window.
This trick has been out for quite some time but if you are new to the Forza franchise or have never used this trick before, do give it a try. If you manage to learn this trick, you will be able to perform the best drag launches in the game without any trouble.

Forza Horizon 4 is not wanting to use my GPU help.
Hello here today i wanted to check out the new update but when i boot in to the game i saw how low FPS i was running and when i tabbed out to task manager i saw that forza refuses to use my GPU. does anyone have an idea to fix this? or am i F*cked.
Also here is the specs:
Ram: 16Gb at 2400MHz
Storage: 500Gb NvME SSD
does it work fine on other games then?
Go to your Nvidia control panel and find forza on the application list. Click on it, and make sure that the gtx 1050 is set to run it, not Intel graphics.
Use window mode
Tried it. no luck
I have the same issue
I have tried everything to fix mine but nothing has resolved the issue. I assume there is not way the game would be able to run off my cpu alone so chalked it up to bad information from the pc or the game. It’s probably using the gpu it just doesn’t show up in the areas you can see info about it.
Hey, as of now did you ever fix the problem?
Nope still not i ended up just dealing with the lag
on a slightly unrelated note, if you v-sync or frame limit, the game will not actually reach the target fps, causing it to look choppy and stutter-y, as it averages 1 frame lower than the target / native fps. im also not completely sure how the game calculates fps (is it an average over a set time, or does it compute based on the time between frames?) because there are times when the fps drops to under 30 fps, but its not reflected in the fps counter in game.
