Как отключить physx в borderlands 2

23 апр. 2016 в 11:48 I've played this game back in 2012 when it has been released and again in 2014. Both times PhysX setting was greyed out in options and i was unable to change it. Now i installed the game again hoping to play with my friends, but this time PhysX option isn't greyed out and perfomance is far worse. I tried to google and found numerous threads were people would say that it's impossible but i know for a fact that this is incorrect - now that i'm able to change it, even with "low" setting enabled there's a noticeble increase in detail: shooting directly into the ground causing a lot of dust and particles to appear; wind is causing rugs scattered around bandit hideouts to move, etc. It hasn't happened before.
My CPU is pretty sh?tty, so this issue is basically halving my fps - from 30-60 to 15-25 or something. If you have an AMD card and don't install the PhysX software it is grey but if you have an NVIDIA card it is not because you have a card that can do it plus the software to run on CPU install with your driver package.

It is set to low and cloth is not still. Rocks aren't piling up when i shoot the ground but i'm still getting much more particles than i had before

It is set to low and cloth is not still. Rocks aren't piling up when i shoot the ground but i'm still getting much more particles than i had before

PhysX comes included with Borderlands 2, so you don't need to have it separately installed for advanced PhysX effects. Of course, if you don't have an NVIDIA GPU, the CPU will be used for all of the effects.

I suggest you copy all of your configuration files elsewhere, then delete the entire configuration folder in order to let BL2 create new files. Located at Users\<name>\My Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config in Win7. Running the game after this should set everything to the default values. You'll need to change some settings in-game if you don't like the defaults.

If that doesn't make the game as playable as you want, or breaks something, you can always restore the copied files you backed up.

It didn't turn off the advanced PhysX effects?

Do you have Steam's Cloud feature enabled? If so, you might be downloading saved versions of the config files from there. You should try again but after disabling Steam's Cloud for BL2 first.

If not, what happens when you set PhysX to Low after creating the new files? (BTW, there is no "Off" for PhysX as PhysX is the primary physics engine, and basic PhysX features such as gravity and ballistics are always on.)

It has always been part of the game, it has PhysX even on low. However, at least in the past if you had an AMD card and have not had an NVIDIA card before PhysX was not something you could set, it was on low and could not be changed.

I don't really feel like formatting a drive and reinstalling everything to see if that has changed though.

Since I don't have an AMD card, I can't say this from experience. only from what I've read in these forums, but supposedly if an AMD user changes the "PhysXLevel=x" entry in WillowEngine.ini to anything other than the default, it makes the PhysX option changeable inside of BL2.

Regardless of the UI issue though, just changing that setting to "2" should enable all of the advanced features for AMD users even without installing PhysX separately.

When you install an NVIDIA card driver package it installs PhysX software, it can do the PhysX on GPU or CPU. When you install an AMD card you do not install any of it. If you install it you can use it. I do have AMD cards, before installing the PhysX software changing the settings was not something I could do. Yes, PhysX is in game, I have looked at the files, I have read where you can use them to replace files in the PhysX software install to make it work better on an NVIDIA card but have never tried that or editing the ini to force PhysX. Also, if I remember you are stuck with what you set in the ini as it is still grey in setting, I have slept a time or two from the time I read the though.

Данную штуку можно выключить в настройках и там возле названия видео карты будет такой параметр. Как по мне он в этой игре вообще не нужен и разницы с ним или без него никакой нету вообще. Так как эта технология прежде всего была разработана для намного новых игр, а не этого уже будем реально говорить старья. Например для таких игр как батла 5 и так далее, а в этой игре текстуры и так слабые и хоть какую функцию не включай ничего толком не поменяется.

If you have an Nvida card of some sort that supports PhysX then you can't disable it (trust me, i have tried) so i think the only way to do so it to a. (if you can) uninstall what ever is enabling Physx (uninstall the AMD patch or the Physx for Nvida) (still havent tried uninstalling physX for Nvida) or 2. live with it. Look I did this. Use de CPU to do the PhysX.

You can achive this by configuring it on the Nvidia Dashboard. After do this the PhysX option in the game looks unable to change. Call me crazy but I do gain some performance and I have and old core i5 2300

Anyway, regardless of that, if you are having issues running the game TC, it lies elsewhere. I agree that Low being Off is a bit confusing though.

кароч я тут на форуме поискал, машина у меня сильная, без физикса не тормозило вообще, с физиксом и в коопе в боях были сильные просадки.
сейчас вот сделал вот это и играю с высоким физиксом с просадками до 40 кадров, но только в особо горячих боях, короче:

Зверское увеличение FPS в игре: жертвуем дурацкой черной комиксовой обводкой.
1. - Идем сюда C:\Users\___\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config
2. - Находим и открываем WillowEngine.ini
3. - Ищем DefaultPostProcessName =WillowEngineMaterials.WillowScenePostProcess
4. - Меняем на DefaultPostProcessName =EngineMaterials.ScenePostProcess
5. - Прыгаем и радуемся.

DynamicShadows=True сделать DynamicShadows=False - это выключит динамические тени
